5 Old Man’s Cave Hiking Trails

Gorge Entrance/Exit Trail- .6 Miles
If you are looking for the shortest trail to Old Man’s Cave, take the Gorge Entrance and Exit Trail. From here, you can turn around to get back to your car or pick up the Grandma Gatewood Trail for a longer hike.

Grandma Gatewood Trail- 5.3 Miles
The Grandma Gatwood Trail begins at Upper Falls and continues downstream toward Old Man’s Cave. From here, the trail passes several waterfalls, including Cedar Falls and Whispering Falls. Three miles from here, you can get to Ash Cave, the largest recess cave in Ohio.

Broken Rock Trail- .1 Mile
Broken Rock Trail is a short detour that leads you to Broken Rock Falls. You can pick up this trail from the Gorge Entrance Trail or Grandma Gatewood.

Gorge Overlook Trail- 2.8 Miles
The Gorge Overlook Trail starts at the Upper Falls parking area and connects Old Man’s Cave to Cedar Falls. Along the way, you will be rewarded with scenic views of the park from above and cross the dam at Rose Lake.

Whispering Cave to Old Man’s Cave- 1.7 Miles
Pick up the Whispering Cave Trail from the Gorge Entrance Trail. The trail takes you to Whispering Cave, a large recess cave with a beautiful seasonal waterfall.
