Why stay with The Chalets?

The Chalets is the preferred and most referred lodging in the Hocking Hills! Established in 1988 by a native Hocking County resident who helped to grow the hospitality industry for the region. Still family-owned and growing, the first 16 A-Frame cabins near Old Man's Cave have multiplied to include over 50 premier cabins in five locations with five swimming pools, throughout the Hocking Hills. Our dedicated team of 50 local associates ensures the quality, cleanliness, responsiveness and friendliness you experience as a guest of the Chalets. The Chalets continually invests in its properties - spending more than competitors on upgrades, on an annual basis.

What is your pet policy?

Pets are permitted in cabins designated pet-friendly, with proper paperwork submitted for approval prior to arrival. Maximum number of pets is two (2) per cabin. The pet fee is $50 plus tax per stay. Pets must be well mannered and house broken. Pets must be with you and on a leash when outside. Pets are not to be left unattended or alone in the cabins. Crates, pens or carrying case are mandatory. Per our insurance carrier's restrictions: no rottweilers, Dobermans, pit bulls, or other vicious breeds permitted.

As a guest, will I have wifi?

Wifi and even mobile phone covererage is sketchy in this hilly region of Ohio. But we are proud to have solved the challenge for our guests at the Chalets at Old Man's Cave location. (Use filter in this site's search function to identify these 25 cabins.) The Chalets at Old Man's Cave have true high speed internet, as of March 2022. Most of our other properties have limited wifi. A few require you to "unplug." See cabin listing details.

What is check-in time?

Chalets check-in begins at 4 pm. Because our teams cover significant distances between properties for pre-arrival inspections of Chalets and hot tubs, rarely can we offer early check-ins. If you are in the area before 4 pm, feel free to come by our office where we have maps to the State Parks and and other resources you may enjoy the Hocking Hills prior to check-in. Also, we recommend a stop at the Hocking Hills State Park's Visitors Center at Old Man's Cave, for world class geological, geographical and historical orientations to the region.

Is Hocking Hills dog friendly?

All area State Parks allow dogs on leashes. Conkles Hollow Nature Preserve does not allow pets. Many of our cabins are pet-friendly. If you would like to bring your fur babies with you, search our site with the pets filter applied. Or give us a call to find out what pet-friendly cabins are available for you.

What is the weekend two-night minimum?

Any stay that includes a Friday or Saturday night is a two-night minimum booking at weekend rates. That includes: Thursday+Friday, Friday+Saturday and Saturday+Sunday. During Saver Season (winter) some cabins may be available for one night rental on weekends.

Where do I charge my electric vehicle?

We have two Noodoe level 2 ev charging stations, which charge at a rate of 25-30 miles of range per hour, depending on vehicle type. No account necessary: Just scan the QR code with your mobile device and select your method of payment. Available on a first-come-first-served basis at the Chalets office at Old Man's Cave location (18905 SR 664 S, Logan, Ohio 43138).

What do I need to bring?

Items to bring: • Alarm clock and/or phone charger • Flashlight (to go to car after dark or in case of storm) • Beach towels for the use with the hot tub and pool • Food items • Bottled drinking water (Our water is safe, but it's well water, which tasts "funny" to some people) • Hair dryer • MP3 or other music player • Matches or lighter • Charcoal and foil for the grill (See cabin listing to see if grill is charcoal or gas.) • Paper towels and /or napkins • Ground coffee • Personal toiletries • Cooler(s) for overflow or back up refrigeration (especially large groups) • DVDs • Firewood • Ice • Insect repellant

What can I purchase there?

Available for purchase in the Chalets office: • Firewood (Before your stay, arrange for delivery!) • Fire starters • Coffee • DVD loans • Shirts, robes, hats and other swag • Next door to the Chalets office at the Old Man's Cave location, the Old Man's Cave General Store is a great resource for basics ... and for soft serve ice cream!

Do you have a lost-and-found?

The Chalets is not responsible for lost or left behind items. Left items (as well as retired cabin furnishings) are donated to the thrift store supporting the Smith Chapel Food & Clothing Mission - a locals-helping-locals charity founded by the first generation of Chalets owners.

Is smoking allowed?

All Chalets properties are non-smoking. Ashtrays are provided for outside. Evidence of smoking inside our cabins may result in a $200 fee.
