FISHING IN HOCKING HILLS

Hocking Hills is the perfect location for fishing enthusiasts of all kinds, offering various popular spots for casting a line. Lake Logan offers avid fisherman and women over 400 acres of water stocked with schools of pike, bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and saugeye. Rose Lake, located near Chalets main lodge, provides 17 acres of clear water stocked annually with big rainbow trout, along with other types of fish when available. If you prefer river fishing, the Hocking River is the perfect spot. The mid and upper sections of the river have an impressive amount of smallmouth bass, channel catfish, white crappie, quill back, saugeye, and more. The best time for fishing on the river is in the Spring, but Summer anglers usually find luck along the shore.

Fisherman and women, please note: When planning your Ohio fishing weekend or vacation, please plan to obtain or hold valid fishing permits or licenses. Visit the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for more information.
