How to Get Married at Hocking Hills State Park

Hocking Hills State Park has several options for your wedding ceremony at Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, and Old Man’s Cave. To get married in the park, you must obtain a wedding license and apply for a wedding permit. You will have to submit your wedding permit request in writing to the park’s office at 19852 State Route 664 S Logan, Ohio. Here are the things you need to include in your submission:

  • Time and date of the wedding, including backup dates if your requested dates are unavailable
  • The name of the state park you want for the wedding
  • Phone number and personal address
  • If you have questions about wedding facilities, please contact the park office at 740-385-6841.

Where to Plan Your Hocking Hills Wedding

There are three destinations to choose from for your Hocking Hills wedding ceremony. Please keep in mind that time is limited to half an hour, and the areas will remain open to the public during the ceremony. Here are some of the features of each Hocking Hills state park:

Ash Cave

Ash Cave is the most popular place to tie the knot in the park because of its natural beauty and accessibility. There is a paved walkway to the cave, so guests with wheelchairs and strollers can easily get to the wedding site. Get married under the largest recess cave in the state with the backdrop of a beautiful runoff waterfall.

Old Man’s Cave

Old Man’s Cave is the most popular area of Hocking Hills State Park, offering waterfalls, recess caves, and stone bridges. The site is marked by five distinct areas where you can stop for photos, including Upper Falls, Upper Gorge, Middle Falls, Lower Falls, and Lower Gorge. As stated on the Hocking Hills website:

“Guests have compared the natural wonder of Old Man’s Cave to an enchanted place where fairies and elves could be hiding around every corner.”

Cedar Falls

If you have been dreaming of that picturesque waterfall wedding setting, choose to get hitched at Cedar Falls. This is the largest waterfall in the park, with water plunging 50 feet into a ravine. The location is also lined by steep rock walls, grottos, and hemlock trees that offer a fantastic backdrop for wedding photos!
