Commercial Point Karting Classic (August 1-3)

Head to the Village of Commercial Point for Ohio’s premier street racing event. The Commercial Point Karting Classic features a full weekend of family-friendly racing and entertainment. With a guaranteed purse of $10,000, this year’s competition promises to be excellent.

Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad Robbery Train (August 2)

Just when you thought historic train rides couldn’t get any more fun…they did! The Robbery Train features a band of robbers attempting to “rob” train riders of play money distributed beforehand. This event is popular and will sell out, so get your tickets early.

Into the Woods, Logan Theatre Group (August 2, 9, 16, and 30)

Sondheim lovers rejoice! The Logan Theatre Group this year is mounting a production of fairy tale musical Into the Woods at various outdoor locations. In New York, seeing this show would run you $100+, but in Hocking Hills, tickets are only $10 to $20 and at some performances the price includes a glass of wine. How can you beat that?

Parade of the Hills (August 13-16)

On your mark, get set, fiddle! Parade of the Hills is a fun-filled four-day fair in Nelsonville featuring rides, races, and the Ohio State Fiddling Contest. This year’s musical lineup also includes Bee Gees and Kiss tribute bands.

Ridgetop Music Fest and Big Boy Toy Day (August 16)

“Big boys” and girls of all ages will enjoy this one-day festival held at Vinton County Airport. The event features music, an old car show, airplane rides, and more. Best of all, it’s free.

Pioneer Days Campout (August 22-23)
