7 Best 4th of July Fireworks Displays in Ohio

The birthday of our country is right around the corner! Between spectacular fireworks shows and family barbecues, this is one of America’s favorite holidays. Here are the seven best 4th of July fireworks displays in Ohio.

Red, White, and BOOM (Columbus)

Downtown Columbus’s Red, White, and BOOM features the largest fireworks display in all of Ohio. In addition to the fireworks, the festival’s events include Central Ohio’s largest Independence Day parade, concerts, a food festival, and an after party. Although this is a 4th of July celebration, the festivities actually take place on July 3, with the fireworks commencing at 10:00.

Blossom Music Festival (Cleveland)

The Blossom Music Festival is the Cleveland Orchestra’s summer residence. Start the festivities by enjoying a concert of music by American composers including marching band favorite John Philip Sousa. The concert concludes with the iconic 1812 Overture followed by a fireworks show.

Thunder in the Valley (Hocking Hills)

Thunder in the Valley, which is held at Hocking College, is southeast Ohio’s top fireworks display. Park your car at the Nelsonville Depot and take the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway to the event, which also includes vendors, games, and plenty of food.

LaRosas Balloon Glow (Coney Island, Cincinnati)

For Independence Day, Coney Island is full of not just classic rides and family entertainment, but glowing hot air balloons as well. That day, the pool is open until 9:30 and the rides until 11:00. Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks start at 10:00 over Lake Como.

Red, White, and KaBOOM (Toledo)

Red, White, and KaBOOM is a free family-friendly festival in Toledo’s Promenade Park. The celebration features food and entertainment, as well as one of the area’s largest fireworks displays.

Rib, White, and Blue (Akron)

Nothing says “America” louder than a huge plate of fall-off-the-bone BBQ ribs. Akron’s Rib, White, and Blue festival takes place over four days, and includes a July 4th pops concert by the Akron Symphony Orchestra and a fireworks finale.

Lights in Flight (Dayton)

Dayton’s Lights in Flight festival is a family-friendly multicultural celebration held on July 3. The fireworks show has earned the Dayton People’s Choice Award for Best Fireworks show in the Miami Valley.
