Hocking Hills Farm and Harvest Festivals

With the abundance of local festivals and stunning fall foliage, harvest time is a fun and beautiful time to visit Hocking Hills. Here are seven Hocking Hills farm and harvest festivals to put on your list.

Hocking County Fair, September 8-13

The Hocking County Fair is celebration of the area’s bounty and culture. Come enjoy livestock and tractor shows, arts and crafts showcasing local talent, rides, music, and a ton of great food.

Ohio Pawpaw Festival, September 12-14

Head to Athens in September for the 16th annual Ohio Pawpaw Festival, dedicated to the pawpaw, an unusual North American tropical-type fruit that has ties to the earliest history of the United States—chilled pawpaw was George Washington’s favorite dessert!

Jackson Apple Festival, September 16-20

The third week of September, the Jackson Apple Festival is the place to be for all of the delicious apple treats you can eat, as well as two parades, rides, games, and of course the crowning of the Jackson Apple Festival Queen and her Court.

Fairfield County Fair, October 5-11

Now in its 164th year, the Fairfield County Fair is one you don’t want to miss—tractor pulls, demolition derbies, rodeos, rides, livestock, the Budweiser Clydesdales, and much, much more.

Harvest Festival Campout, October 10-11

Get an up-close look at the fall colors by camping out at A.W. Marion State Park in Circleville. Contact the park for more information about the event and the camping facilities. Phone: 740-869-3124

Bob Evans Farm Festival, October 11-13

Experience farm harvest activities for yourself at this weekend-long festival in Bidwell. Make crafts, participate in contests, and enjoy your fill of farm fresh eats.

Circleville Pumpkin Show, October 15-18

This year’s Great Pumpkin sighting might very well take place at the Circleville Pumpkin Show. With its seven parades, contests, and displays, this festival attracts about 400,000 people. Come claim your share of the roughly 23,000 pumpkin pies and 100,000 pumpkin donuts sold each year.
