Ziplining in Hocking Hills Ohio

Ziplining in Hocking Hills is perfect if you like the idea of looking down on the world, or want to enjoy a birds-eye view of the world. There is nothing quite like ziplining through the trees over 70 feet off the ground and it’s all possible with the Hocking Hills Canopy Tour.

Hocking Hills is in Ohio and is made up of thousands of acres of forest, lakes, rivers and the most beautiful green wilderness. There are hollows, sandstone caves, nature preserves and parks galore and is an outdoor lover’s paradise. All the outdoors you could ever want with all the facilities you need.

One of the highlights of the area is undoubtedly the Canopy Tour, a three hour guided zipline experience that will show you a view of nature you have never seen before.

The tour begins with a short hike to the start of the course. You will then be given the obligatory safety briefing and the opportunity to have a practice run on the training zipline. The guides are all young, knowledgeable and friendly, they make the entire process seem easy and work well with even the most nervous guest.

Once you’re ready, the experience begins. Your guide will take you into the canopy through a series of ziplines, 10 of them to be exact, across 5 skybridges, through the trees and then down a rappelling line to the ground and the end of the tour.

During the tour, your guide will explain what you’re seeing, the trees you’re traversing through, highlights of particular flora and fauna and any other useful tidbits of information. They will also answer questions if they can. It’s a great way to integrate the educational with the fun and can teach even the most jaded amongst you about nature and the glorious wilderness in Hocking Hills.

If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you could try the SuperZip. This is a fairly new attraction at the Hocking Hills Canopy Tour and is a big hit with visitors. It’s a quarter mile long and begins on a 75 foot high tower that you have to climb to begin. There are two lines running side by side, so you can ride alone or race your friends. Expect speeds of up to 50 mph as you zipline down from the tower to the ground.

Ziplining in Hocking Hills is a great way to enjoy nature, learn new things while having fun. It’s an excellent mixture of excitement, raw speed and wonder as you see the forest in a way you have never seen it before. If you’re staying in one of our cabins, lodges or cottages, we would recommend you try a Canopy Tour at least once.
